[vc_row][vc_column width=\u00bb3\/4″][vc_column_text]La Direcci\u00f3n Provincial del Ministerio de Cultura en diciembre de 1978 adjudic\u00f3 la elaboraci\u00f3n de un inventario arquitect\u00f3nico del Ensanche Modernista, entregado en enero de 1980 y la Comisi\u00f3n de Patrimonio de Melilla, creada el 9 de julio de 1979, con gestiones el 11 de febrero de 1980, hizo que el 26 del mismo febrero el Ministerio de Cultura solicitase a la Delegaci\u00f3n de Gobierno edificios a ser nombrados BIC (Bien de Inter\u00e9s Cultural), relaci\u00f3n facilitada el 11 de marzo con 25 edificios y el 6 de octubre se tramitaron lo expedientes de 10 de ellos.\u200b<\/p>\n
En 1986 se aprob\u00f3 la ampliaci\u00f3n del conjunto hist\u00f3rico de la ciudad, contando por entonces con el estatus de Bien de Inter\u00e9s Cultural.
